Custom Cabinet Lights

Situation
I have never found an LED strip that is affordable, offers good smart home support, bright, and provides accurate colors. I have tried multiple brands for cabinet lighting, but they always end up looking harsh, too blue, or too dim. I needed a solution that would allow using standard smart bulbs while still fitting neatly under the cabinets.
Task
Design a 3D-printed bulb holder that can be mounted beneath cabinets.
Action
- Started with the cord and sizing from the custom pendant lamp.
- Created a slim cylinder that allows a pendant lamp cord to attach from the side.
- Added a small inset around the top edge to hold it against the cabinet.
- Printed multiple using white PLA on an Ender 3.
- Attached them to the underside of the cabinets using 3M Command Strips.
Result
I admit they look a bit funny, but they excel at their purpose. Using my preferred smart bulbs, I can perfectly tune the color temperature and brightness to my liking and automate them to turn on at sunset.
